The Times of India cited new research from UBC and McMaster University which has developed a light, foam-like substance derived from plant cellulose that can be injected into the body to provide support for the growth of new bone. UBC wood science and chemical and biological engineering professor Emily Cranston was one of the co-authors of the study.
