Stakes high for NDP leader Jagmeet Singh as he vies for seat in Burnaby South by-election

Feb 25, 2019

Several media outlets reported on the Burnaby South byelection.

The Globe and Mail quoted Richard Johnston, a UBC political science professor, who said the SNC-Lavalin case could be a “gift” for NDP leader Jagmeet Singh.

Johnston also spoke to CTV, the Ottawa Citizen and MSN. He said there is evidence that the outcome of byelections is driven by the popularity of the government and its leader.

The Vancouver Sun, The Province and The Peak mentioned Conservative candidate Jay Shin, who teaches at UBC’s Peter A. Allard School of Law.
