Bad growing season could mean we’re in for a year of stumpy, brown french fries

Rickey Yada, dean of UBC’s faculty of land and food systems commented on the aftermath of a bad potato growing season for Canadian farmers.

He told the Financial Post that the season changed the chemical makeup of some potatoes and made them likely to turn brown when fried.

The story also appeared in the Montreal Gazette.
