The Globe and Mail reported on a study by UBC economist Nicole Fortin, suggesting that playing video games can lead to higher math test scores.
Fortin analyzed math test scores from more than 56 Organisation for Economic Development and Co-operation (OEDC) countries, finding that teenage girls scored two to three percentage points lower than boys on standard math tests.
Up to a third of the test results can be attributed to computer gaming, the study suggests.
