Kamloops This Week reported on a recent environmental science seminar at Thompson Rivers University, where Michael Pidwirny, an associate professor in environmental and geographical Sciences at UBC Okanagan, spoke about his research into the adverse effects of greenhouse gas emissions on recreational skiing in B.C. His research shows that warmer winters are likely, especially near the coast.
Pidwirny said that many climate scientists believe governments need to act soon to reduce emission levels.
