CBC Radio’s Quirks and Quarks reported on UBC research that suggests cacao was domesticated around 1,500 years earlier than previously thought.
Sonia Zarrillo, the study’s lead author who carried out some of the research as a sessional instructor at UBC Okanagan’s department of anthropology, explained the findings.
CBC’s On the Coast also covered the story (clip starts at 2:35:00).
