Janine Benedet, a UBC law professor and an intervener in the case for the Women’s Equality and Liberty Coalition, was quoted in a Toronto Star article about a trial in Ontario where the accused was found not guilty of murder or manslaughter.
“We only have his version,” said Janine Benedet, “She’s dead, and she may have quite a different account about what she was promised, what she expected. But we’re never going to get that.”
