UBC Okanagan’s Susan Holtzman, an associate professor in psychology, was quoted in a Castanet article about her research into text messaging. The study analyzed the emotional response to critical messages and found that some people reacted more to criticism in a text than in person.
“People also tend to be less inhibited when they are texting, and that can lead to worse outcomes,” she said.
