More than a quarter of British Columbians would give up spouse for smartphone

A CBC story on smartphone use and electricity consumption quoted UBC Professor Martin Ordonez, who predicted that changes to electricity consumption will be even more rapid with the use of electric vehicles. “What we are spending today at the gas pump will be transferred to the electricity bill,” he said.
