Crows gang up to ‘chase and harass’ ravens, study finds

The National Post featured UBC research that examined social behaviour of crows that harass ravens.

“If you could force one crow and one raven into a boxing ring, the raven is still dominant. But when crows get together in groups, they’re able to successfully chase and harass ravens and make ravens leave the crows’ area,” says lead study author Benjamin G. Freeman with UBC’s zoology department.

The story also appeared in the Montreal Gazette and a similar story appeared on Big Think.
