Construction Canada reported on a UBC study that examined the costs of demolishing and replacing homes in Vancouver.
Study co-author Joseph Dahmen, a UBC professor of architecture and landscape architecture said that Vancouver’s zero emissions plan has improved the energy efficiency of new homes but the city’s teardown cycle means many single-family homes don’t stand long enough to pay back their initial environmental impacts.
