Salon quoted Saraswathi Vedam, a UBC midwifery professor and head of the Birth Place Lab, for a story about the benefits of midwifery in the United States.
“We have been able to establish that midwifery care is strongly associated with lower interventions, cost-effectiveness and improved outcomes,” Vedam said.
