Canadian doctors show blood flow can spread Alzheimer’s disease

CBC Radio’s Quirks and Quarks highlighted UBC research that found an Alzheimer’s protein can spread between mice that share a blood supply, causing brain degeneration.

Weihong Song, a UBC researcher and the Canada Research Chair in Alzheimer’s disease, fused two mice together so that they shared the same blood supply for several months.
