43 per cent of Metro Van renters living in homes they can’t afford

Global interviewed Nathanael Lauster, a UBC sociology professor, about census results that show 43 per cent of renters in Metro Vancouver are living in homes they can’t afford.

Lauster, the author of The Death and Life of the Single-Family House: Lessons from Vancouver on Building a Livable City, said “when it comes to renters in particular, it’s pretty clear that this is a real problem of people not being able to find affordable rental housing.”
