How long it takes to get gender-affirming surgery across Canada

Vice reported on a study led by UBC nursing professor Elizabeth Saewyc that examined the experiences of transgender patients seeking gender-affirming surgery in B.C. and across Canada.

The results showed frustrating disparities, with some patients waiting just one month, while others waited nine years.

Study co-author Hélène Frohard-Dourlent was also interviewed on Radio Canada (6:10 mark).
