Patrick Condon, a UBC urban design professor, wrote an op-ed for the Surrey Now Leader about Surrey’s East Clayton neighbourhood, which he helped design.
Condon recalled his early concerns for the area, writing: “There will come a moment when the conflict between having affordable homes for owner and renters will come in conflict with the need to store cars. That in the early phases in the long life of this community, residents will be very dependent on their cars.”
