Global interviewed Chris Carlsten, a UBC respirologist, about the impacts of the smoke in Vancouver.

He explained how fine particles from the smoke “are small enough that they can actually get into the brain, they can lead to what’s called neuro-inflammation, or inflammation in the brain.”
