Fukushima images likely to be of melted nuclear fuel

Bloomberg interviewed M. V. Ramana, a professor at UBC’s Liu Institute for Global Issues, after new images show what may be melted nuclear fuel from one of Japan’s wrecked Fukushima reactors.

Ramana said if some of the fragments can be retrieved from the reactor and studied, nuclear engineers and scientists could better model what happened during the accident.
