The Globe and Mail interviewed Emma Cunliffe, a professor at UBC’s Peter A. Allard School of Law, after an Ontario Superior Court judge ordered a new trial for a man convicted of sexually assaulting a fellow PhD student.
Cunliffe said this case is an example of gaps in the justice system that means women are reluctant to report sexual assault.
