Radiofrequency denervation offers no benefits for back pain

The New York Times quoted a UBC researcher about radiofrequency denervation, which can be used to treat back pain.

Esther T. Maas, a postdoctoral fellow at UBC’s school of population and public health, worked with researchers at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and said that “radiofrequency denervation does not give any further relief” beyond that provided by exercise and physical therapy.
