Trudeau heralds Canadian sniper’s record-setting kill

Michael Byers, the Canada Research Chair in Global Politics and International Law at UBC, spoke to the Globe and Mail after Justin Trudeau praised a Canadian sniper who killed an Islamic State fighter but rejected the idea that Canada is in a combat mission in Iraq. Byers said “if the Prime Minister considers it necessary for Canadian soldiers to kill people, he should explain the reasons without engaging in political spin.”
