Births to older moms rise as teen birth rate drops

CNN reported on UBC study that found pregnant women aged 45 to 49 were almost five times as likely as younger women to end up in intensive care.

Sarka Lisonkova, a UBC professor of obstetrics and gynecology and study lead author, said she was surprised that the increase in relative risk was exponential.
