Werner Antweiler, a professor at the UBC Sauder School of Business, was quoted in a Canadian Press story about B.C.’s role in negotiating the American tariffs on softwood lumber.
He said Ottawa is in charge of negotiating with the United States on a potential softwood lumber deal, and provincial involvement diminishes Canada’s bargaining power.
