Teens who exercise during growth spurt ‘have stronger bones’

Various media outlets featured work by UBC researchers that found inactivity during teenage years could have an effect on bone development.

Lead author and UBC orthopedics PhD candidate Leigh Gabel said the study found that only 25 per cent of teens met the physical activity guidelines and inactive teens had weaker bones.
