Regions differ in Indigenous acknowledgement at universities

Phys.org reported on a UBC study that identified five different types of Indigenous acknowledgement at universities in B.C., the Prairies, Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic.

Linc Kesler, study co-author, director of UBC’s First Nations House of Learning, and a professor in English and First Nations and Indigenous Studies, said acknowledgements indicate respect for Indigenous communities and bring attention to a history that is often ignored.
