Patients choose cannabis over prescribed opioids

Various media outlets featured UBC research that found people who suffer from chronic pain and those taking mental health medications would rather use cannabis in place of their prescribed opioid medication.

Zach Walsh, study co-author and a psychology professor at UBC’s Okanagan campus, said this study is one of the first to map medical cannabis use with the new system of licensed cannabis producers.
