The Washington Post quoted Michael Brauer, a professor in UBC’s school of population and public health, after a study found that when a pregnant woman is exposed to air pollution there are adverse effects on her fetus.
Brauer said the findings highlight the importance of considering pregnant women as a vulnerable population and support the need to quickly address air pollution as a global health threat.
