Unsafe to drink

Madjid Mohseni, a UBC engineering professor and scientific director at Res’eau WaterNet, a partnership that works with small communities to provide drinkable water, spoke to the Globe and Mail for a story about how water treatment plants are failing on reserves across Canada.

Mohseni said standards of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada result in plants that are operationally complex and better suited for larger municipalities because if the communities don’t have the capacity, the system will soon fail.
