UBC researchers have genetically engineered mice that were able to resist cocaine addiction due to manipulation of brain proteins, various media outlets reported.
Shernaz Bamji, a professor in UBC’s department of cellular and physiological sciences and lead study author, said the findings could help develop new drugs to treat human addiction.
