The Canadian Press cited a UBC study for a story about sex workers who choose the industry because it can be more lucrative than low-paying service industry jobs.
The 2016 UBC study found that the exploration of sexual and gender identity was a theme among male sex workers, and more than 70 per cent of study participants identified as a gender or sexual minority.
The story appeared in the Globe and Mail, National Post, and Times Colonist.
