The Globe and Mail honoured the life of UBC alumnus Lorne Loomer, who died of esophageal cancer on New Year’s Day at age 79.
Loomer was part of Canada’s first rowing team to win a gold medal at the Olympics and achieved many honours, including a spot in the UBC Sports Hall of Fame.
