Salt fury: What’s behind Vancouverites’ panicked response?

CKNW interviewed Joandrea Hoegg, a UBC Sauder School of Business professor, about the furor in Vancouver over road salt during unseasonable icy temperatures in the region.

Hoegg said when something free is in limited supply, as was the case with salt for Vancouver residents, it can cause people to act in emotional ways and increase feelings of competitiveness.
