UBCO study shows traditional lectures not working

Kelowna Now reported on a study from UBC’s Okanagan campus that found traditional university lectures are likely not an effective way to help students acquire problem-solving skills.

Researchers Heather Hurren at UBCO’s centre for teaching and learning and Andis Klegeris, a biology professor, developed a testing system to measure the problem-solving abilities of undergraduate students at various stages of their degrees.
