Supervised injection facility for intravenous drug users could save millions

Researchers from UBC’s centre for disease control worked on a study that found that a supervised injection facility would save $3.5 million and prevent 3.3 cases of HIV and 19 cases of hepatitis C virus per year in the United States, Medical Xpress reported.

RTI International, the Criminal Justice Policy Foundation, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, and the University of Southern California collaborated with UBC on the study.
