Young workers’ wage and job situation placing market at risk

Canadian Real Estate Magazine quoted Paul Kershaw, a professor at UBC’s school of population and public health, for an article about poor working conditions for young Canadian workers.

He cautioned that the prohibitive home prices could trigger a vicious cycle that will be problematic for the Canadian economy.

“If people stop making initial acquisitions there is a possibility that further sales and other parts of the retail sector will slow down and then that will have an impact on the price people can sell their homes,” Kershaw said.
