New moms moving toward pumped milk in a bottle

Science Daily featured research from UBC’s Okanagan campus that examined infant feeding practices of mothers living in Hong Kong.

“Breastfeeding is the unequalled method for feeding infants,” said Marie Tarrant, director of nursing at UBC’s Okanagan campus. Her research team studied more than 2,000 moms and found that over a five-year period, mothers moved away from directly breastfeeding their infants to using expressed breast milk, usually delivered using a bottle.
