Cut from a different cloth

The Globe and Mail featured the exhibition “Layers of Influence: Unfolding Cloth Across Cultures” at UBC’s Museum of Anthropology.

“We wear clothing for warmth or protection from the sun, but also as an expression of political power, social prestige, pride in identity and spiritual protection,” said Jennifer Kramer, the exhibition’s curator.

Karen Duffek, curator of Contemporary Visual Arts & Pacific Northwest at MOA, gave celebrated shoe designer Christian Louboutin a preview of the collection when he was in Vancouver.
