New app crowdsources reports of B.C. environmental abuses

The Globe and Mail reported on an app created by the spatial information for community engagement lab at UBC’s Okanagan campus.

The app, which is the result of a collaboration between the BC Wildlife Federation and UBCO researchers, will be used by thousands of people to record and report environmental abuses across B.C.

Anyone with the app can report concerning incidents including suspected wildlife poaching, cattle grazing in protected areas, pollution, or illegal gates that restrict access to public land.
