The Georgia Straight featured UBC’s TRIUMF facility which is one of three subatomic research facilities in the world that specializes in producing extremely intense beams of particles.
The centre offers free public tours and is mostly focused on oncology experiments. It has also been instrumental in building a Positron Emission Tomograph, used at the UBC hospital for specialized brain scans.
