Will teachers who left B.C. return after Supreme Court ruling?

CKNW interviewed Charles Ungerleider, a UBC professor emeritus of educational studies, after the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that the province must restore class size and composition to 2002 levels.

He addressed the idea that many out-of-province teachers may want to return to B.C.

“There are people who are graduating who don’t get permanent contracts right away. It won’t require additional numbers being pushed out of the universities,” he said. “French immersion and highly qualified special needs teachers are often in a shortage.”
