Four first-year university students will receive scholarships from the Rick and Yasmin Thorpe & Friends Scholarship this year, Castanet reported.
In previous years the Thorpe family has provided scholarships for two students. This year four students will receive $2,500 towards their university tuition.
The scholarships are offered to students who are graduating from schools on the west side of Okanagan Lake, from Penticton to Killiney Beach.
