UBC responds to criticism over firing of Steven Galloway

The Globe and Mail reported on UBC’s response to an open letter signed by Canadian authors regarding the school’s handling of the Steven Galloway case. “We can reassure those who have raised concerns that the allegations will be tested again through an independent arbitration, agreed to by the UBC Faculty Association and the university,” said Philip Steenkamp, vice-president of external relations at UBC.

Another Globe article said the case will be the first test for UBC president Santa Ono.

The Canadian Press (MSN, CTV, Castanet, Kelowna Daily Courier), CBCVancouver Sun, and CKNW also covered the story.
