Brain scans could predict response to psychotherapy

Science Daily featured UBC research that found brain imaging scans could provide useful information on the response to psychotherapy in patients with depression or anxiety.

Particular “neuroimaging markers” may help to predict the likelihood of a good response to psychotherapy.

“While some brain areas have emerged as potential candidate markers, there are still many barriers that preclude their clinical use,” said Trisha Chakrabarty, the study’s lead author and a researcher in the psychiatry department.
