Discussing the Okanagan Charter

Matt Dolf from UBC and Tara Black from SFU were interviewed on Roundhouse Radio about the Okanagan Charter, which presidents from both universities signed this week to make a commitment to improve the health and well-being of students, faculty and staff.

“[The Okanagan Charter] has helped us have a common language and hold us accountable to how we put in place new actions,” said Dolf, wellbeing initiative director at UBC. “We’ve had more working groups formed on helping people move more and sit less for example in the classroom or at the office or how they commute. The research is telling us that it’s not enough to go to the gym and the most impactful thing we can do is to have small ways to move throughout the day.”
