Walking fast can make you breathe in more air pollution

The Toronto Sun featured UBC research that found exerting too much energy while walking or biking on city streets can increase the amount of airborne pollutants you inhale.

Alex Bigazzi, a civil engineering professor, found that cyclists should ride between 12kph and 20kph on city roads while pedestrians should keep between 2kph and 6kph.

The story also appeared in the Calgary Sun, Winnipeg Sun and Edmonton Sun.
