Drone captures rare images of whales in Canada’s Arctic

The Straits Times featured work by Sarah Fortune, a UBC zoology PhD candidate, for a story on the advantages of drone technology in whale research.

Fortune is studying bowhead whales using drone cameras which are non-intrusive yet show whale behaviour. The whales are often found in far northern and Arctic waters.
