NHL.com reported on a UBC hockey goaltender who signed a one-day NHL contract when he suited up for the Vancouver Canucks as an emergency backup goalie.
Matt Hewitt, a fourth-year sociology major, was called up after Canucks goaltender Ryan Miller was injured.
