New blood test could replace cancer screening methods

Metro News reported on technology developed by Boreal Genomics at UBC that could make cancer screening more effective and less painful.

A pilot project, called the Cancer DNA Screening Pilot Study, will use a blood test to detect cancer in 1,000 healthy volunteers.

The technology can already detect whether cancer DNA is present in patients who have been diagnosed.
