Mysterious packages mailed to four philosophers

The New York Times, the
Chronicle of Higher Education and Buzzfeed reported on excrement-filled packages mailed to four philosophy professors, including one at UBC.

The sender of the packages remains unknown but speculation revolves around the fact that all four academics had pushed back against what they call the field’s hostility to women and minorities.

The four philosophers–Carrie Jenkins at UBC, Sally Haslanger at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, J. David Velleman at New York University, and Carolyn Dicey Jennings at the University of California at Merced–had been involved in a long-running argument with another philosopher in academia.
