National carbon price a landmark move by federal government

James Tansey, a professor at UBC’s Sauder School of Business, spoke to CBC’s Early Edition about the federal plan to put a national price on carbon.

“I think it’s a landmark decision,” he said. “Since 1992, since the Rio conventions, since the establishment of the Kyoto Accord, the federal government has never really been able to get to a position where it’s been able to establish a strong, comprehensive national policy.”

He also said Trudeau should use his political capital to advance the climate change agenda.

Tansey discussed the same topic on CBC Victoria’s On the Island and Daybreak Kamloops.
